Michael and I recently celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary! We are so blessed to have been married for 45 years and still in love. We were privileged to spend a few days in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
We live so very close to Gettysburg, and have visited numerous times in the 30 years we have lived in Pennsylvania. Every time I go, I learn new things about the Civil War…our country, and our beautiful state. We loved taking the horse tour ride. We have done it several times and love being on a horse, even if it is just walking. We visited the Dwight D. Eisenhower Farm this time and learned much about him and the wars. We also took the Shriver House tour in town. We were struck by the gravity of the situation of war that the townspeople found themselves in. Also, all around the battlefields there are monuments….many, many monuments. There is much art to be enjoyed driving or walking around looking at them and remembering what our country went through. It was a rough time in our history. I am thankful that I can live here in this area and how God interviened in the lives of men so that all citizens could have liberty — black or white. Just a few scenes from our stay in Gettysburg, including some from The Inn at White Oaks, where we enjoyed staying a couple of nights.
